is it elect start?...does it have a round thing w/yellow wires off it?....what is the model number?

"Model number indicates a Belg

"Model number indicates a Belgian built derated model .... I think. B at the beginning and BF in the middle.

If it has a stator fitted with a socket for an AC lighting supply all you need is the charging kit part number 582105 (abt $75) and illustrated HERE
If there is no stator and AC output you will need the complete battery charging kit illustrated HERE part no 175271 at abt $90. It includes the stator coil assembly #11, a rectifier #14 and all the bits and pieces to install and connect up.

Double check the parts numbers though!

If the engine does already have a stator coil and AC output and you have a bit of electronics knowledge then it would be possible to make up a rectifier , which is identical to a fullwave 3 phase rectifier, from 6 suitably rated diodes.
This diagram shows how to connect AC lighting and the circuit of the rectifier."

"If you have ac output buy the genuine rectifier it will fit in the correct space it is colour coded the same as the existing wiring so its easy to hook up, all you will need is red and black wires back to the battery"
