Could someone please tell me t

Could someone please tell me the shaft size on this motor? The motor is a cj15rcec. I ve looked around at various places and can t find a result.Any help here would be great...thxs in advance.

"That model number indicates that it is a Canadian built 15 hp Johnson with rope start from 1989. As there is no letter (L, X etc) to indicate anything different it is a standard shaft (15") model

There is always a possibility that it has been altered or that the bracket with the number on is not original but if you measure from the position of the top of the transom to a point just above the cavitation plate you will easily be able to confirm it as 15" or decide if it is a longshaft (20") or even an extralong shaft (25")"

"Thank you vics for the reply.This seems to confirm my problem.I bought this boat and motor at auction awhile ago and got it running great and when i took it out for a ride,it would go no faster than a few miles an hour.The transom is 20 inches and i measured as you explained and it is a 15 shaft. I guess this explains the cavitation problems.Wow i guess i need a different motor now....bit of a drag. Thxs for your help on here....you people are great to have around. thxs again jeff f from ontario....."
