Help PLEASE repalcing water pump on 8hp mercury

"i have removed the 3 bolts on

"i have removed the 3 bolts on the lower unit and the unit dropped about an inch and i can not get it any further.it seems the shaft is not loose.is there a clip,pin,etc that disconnects the shaft up in the motor? ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT.THANKS IN ADVANCE.see ya' Bill"

"Tony,thanks for the response,i had another poster tell me to look under the carb,which i did and unhooked the lingage and the lower unit just slipped off easy as pie.thanks again for the help.Bill"
