Help please on BF50 electronic choke solenoid

One last thing. Even though the body of the carburetor is clean as can be, the important piece of the puzzle for starting is actually, the carburetor bowl. If you look at it closely, it has several passages in it to feed fuel to the bystarter, etc.

Sometimes getting the new bowl, fixes a lot of issues.

I paid particular attention to the port and passageway on the top carb regarding the bystarter. After cleaning the bowl - I was able to blow air through the passageway that led to the SE valve - in the bowl. I did notice that I could not get much air through it, and was wondering if it was still partially blocked.

I just pulled the boat from the slip and have it back in the driveway and will double check the very small passages again.

The engine started easier today, but it was 59 degrees outside, instead of 45 like it was a few days ago. Once it started - and warmed up, it ran great! It is nice seeing how smooth it runs after all the work on the carbs, and the rpms being at 6000 - wide open. Never reached that before all the carb work. Most it would do was 5500.

Understand about the warranty probably not covering the parts for the SE system, but the local Honda guy said it was worth a call by them. I'm not keeping my hopes too high, but I am keeping my fingers crossed! :)

Thanks for your time and help!!

Update: The hard starting turned out to be a plugged passageway in the bowl of the top carb - that leads to the start-enrichment system. It took three times to clean it until it was fully open. Only after I hit it with high pressure air did it fully open up. The engine starts fine now - after only 1/2 second of cranking!

I also adjusted the valves on all three cylinders. They were only off .03mm, some a little more, but none were that far off. I also tuned all three carbs using the system of three vacuum gauges, and got all of the carbs very close.

Now, the engine starts and runs perfectly - thanks to what I learned on this forum! Thanks to all that offered the guidance and advice, especially hondadude!
