I am new to the two cycle worl
I am new to the two cycle world and have stummbled across a 25xd Mercury that the previous owner had robbed parts off of including a tiller handle and swapped carbs. He put a kit in the carb but still had problems. When he ran wide open it would cut out unless he cupped his hand over the air horn. To make a long story short I put the carb on the motor and can pump the bubble on the tank but it never gets tight and wont crank. I can shoot ether or mist fuel straight in the carb and the engine will crank but shut down as soon as it burns the ether out. Any ideas on why it wont pump up. I have even bypassed all filters and hooked direct into the carb.
