"MY PROBLEMS STARTED ABOUT HAL

"MY PROBLEMS STARTED ABOUT HALF WAY THROUGH SEASON WITH FEUL PUMP ISSUES BOTH HIGH AND LOW CHANGED ALONG WITH NEW INJECTORS FOR THROTTLE BODY. I OWN A 96 PURSUIT DENALI WITH 5.7 GI .THEN I WAS TOLD I HAD BAD FUEL ,PUMPED TANK FLUSHED TANK 60 GALLONS NEW FUEL ADDED NOW BOAT BOGGED DOWN UNDER LOAD.BOAT HAULED BOTTOM CLEANED ,STILL BOAT WONT GET PASSED 1600 RPM,S BOGGED AND BACK FIRING .
THE MECHANIC ALSO HAD CHANGED THE DISTRIBUTER CAP AND SPARK PLUGS (STATED TO ME THAT PLUGS WERE WRONG PLUGS FOR ENGINE) WHILE CHANGING FUEL PUMPS.
I NEED ADVICE FROM HERE . IT IS DEC 7TH AND MY BOAT IS STILL IN WATER WAITING TO BE REPAIRED SO IT CAN BE PULLED AND WINTERIZED,IM A LITTLE FRUSTRATED AND PISSED OFF . ANY ADVICE FROM HERE WOULD BE GREAT THANKS FOR LISTENING TO ME VENT.

PS. IT SNOWED LAST NIGHT NOW WITH 2 IN OF SNOW ON BOAT..."

"Unfortunately, when problems

"Unfortunately, when problems come up with fuel injected engines, people want to just start replacing fuel injector components and overlook the basic mechanical issues.

Once spark and compression are verified, including firing order and full timing advance, look for vacuum leaks and operation of mechanical linkage. If these items check out, check fuel pressure and quality. Check the pressure at the load under which the system is braking down, not just at the dock. From here, check the computer for stored DTC codes. Don't overlook a voltage test. These systems are voltage sensitive and many mechanics have replaced expensive fuel system computers because the alternator wasn't putting out enough current.

Battery cables and ground wires are critical and any corrosion should be repaired before proceeding further with troubleshooting.

Finally, don't overlook water ingestion. A bad elbow gasket may only leak under a heavy load and can be causing a cylinder to cut out, yet clear up when the load is removed.

Good luck and keep us updated,
Rick"
