can u take a look at it 4me and let me know what u think, is price right and is there anything i should look out for. are these motors easy to maintain and can you use them in any type of water? cheers"

"I don't recommend an outboard with less than 2 cylinders--anyone's outboard. If that one hole doesn't run, you're stuck someplace. Think about it.

"Agree completely with Jeff. And since that single cylinder has to carry the full 360 degrees of crank rotation all by itself, it tends to shake like a wet dog on a very cold day when at idle.

If you are looking for a very low horse motor 2-4 horses, OMC built a twin cylinder model through the mid/late 80's.

The picture in my avatar shows my little Ev "kicker" mounted beside a 15 horse Mariner. Yes, I even have a 2nd motor on my 14 foot aluminum - have never had to paddle back to the dock


The Ev is a 1987, 2 cylinder, 2.5 horse. The pistons are barely the size of a silver dollar - but being a twin, she runs really nice and smooth..."
