help......Merc 650 problems

I have a early 80s Merc 650 3cyl . I was running great when i shut it off. Now it will fire up but will not run. I put a new fuel pump diaphram and new carb kits and floats. also replaced all fuel lines.plugs are all firing. Could it have jumped timing ? any suggestions ?

You have to post exact information -in 1977 it changed to a 70 HP motor ----Serial # is required here.

Let me simply things: Does it have a distributor or not?

Yes has a distributor. 38 are first two numbers of serial but will get the rest tmorow. It has mk-20 carbs if that will help?

Sounds like a 74 model to me.-----What exactly is the motor doing / not doing.------You say it " fires up but will not run " explain please.

I had it out on the river and it was running great. I shut it off and it fires right up for a second or two thenit dies. All fuel lines have been replaced
