Help, magnito assy. 79 Johnson elec. start 25HP

Help please, there is a small bracket (3/4 X 3 7/8) on the bottom of the plate and sleeve assy plate. can someone tell me where this bracket goes? There are 2 threaded posts on the top of the block close to the bottom of the head, 1 apprx 1/8 higher than the other ,does it bolt two one of these?? (made BIG mistake, didn't photo disassembly) THANK YOU Kim for all your previous help!

On the top of the block close to the bottom of the head? Go to the parts diagram and find the part that goes there or give us pics.

Hi Kim, as you see the bracket is attached by a rivet ,however the bracket is free moving (not in a fixed posiston)

That bracket attaches to the arm that comes up the side of the block ( exhaust side ) with a spring.------It is for advancing ignition and also opens the throttle by that action.--Just started overhaul on a 98 25 HP model and that still uses the same set-up !
