HELP Johnson 25 hp no water

"Hi! Managed to fit a new pump

"Hi! Managed to fit a new pump kit as thought this was the initial problem. Was really excited to get it all together and going again, BUT still no water coming out. Its a 1998/1999 3 cylinder Johnson 25 hp. Can someone please help me with the possible trouble shooting. I'm sure that the kit was put in properly. Thanking you in advance, Tas."
 
"Take down the lower unit agai

"Take down the lower unit again, attach a water hose to the water tube, unscrew the termostat and check (careful with the pressure) if water is comming up.Put back the thermostat and try again.
Put the lower unit in a bucket of water, water up to the pump housng. Clamp a short piece of hose on the shaft - a rod that fits into a power drill in the other end of the hose and run - note rotation directon! Does the pump work?
Put it all back together if everyting works and enjoy boating!"

"Ok. I've managed to test the water pump on the lower unit and it pumps when drill is attached, but water is only pumped up about 2 inches. Is this adequate? Thought maybe it should be stronger. Also managed to check the flow through the power unit and all seems to be fine, but cannot find the water tube. How long is this tube? as i fear i may have lost it. Is it meant to be located on the impeller housing? This is frustrating, but i look towards to the end to reap the rewards. Thanks in advance, Tas."

"Hi Morten, please disregard the above post. Managed to fit it all back together and it works fine except the gears. Please see my new topic post if you have the time. PS: I found out that my model doesn't have a pump hose that fits onto the impeller housing. Well thats what the local Johnson dealer told me. Thanks again."
