My husband bought this motor. Runs good until today. The only number we see is on the Welch plug? G3123756

Trying to purchase a new water pump and bearing i believe. Just trying to help him!

Any help would be appreciated! We have been out a few times with our daughter and loved it. Hoping to get back out :)

The model # plate will be on the port side transom bracket if its still there.

The electric choke solenoid on the carburetor would point to this engine being a 1983 or older. OMC switched to an electric fuel primer system on these engines starting in 1984. A water pump kit for a 1983 will likely work just fine for this engine. Also, what bearing are you talking about? There are no bearings in the water pump.

The pictures are there, it only shows one in the post, but look at the bottom of the photo, it shows 1/5. #5 is the other side, data plate unreadable.
Tap the photo, (if you have a live screen device), or click on pic with mouse, maybe even double click, or move cursor around right Center margin of picture.
Eventually, you should see the little chevron pointing right. Click that to go to next photo.

Not sure what all the light blue goop is…someone had the head off? It’s been messed with, that little tab on the R/H thermostat bolt should be holding a wire bundle

Water cover gasket has the blue " goop " on it.----No powerpack shown.----That would be " UFI " ignition.----Puts this motor in the 1989 / 92 model years.

Thank you for all the input! We found the sticker with the model and serial number, unfortunately it had been painted over and we tried to get the paint off but it's just silver underneath. Husband now says it needs a hub assembly.

Spun rubber drive hub in the prop might be the issue.----Or motor is running on just 1 cylinder.----All easy to check out.----Not sure why the propshaft bearing housing was removed on this project.

He just had things out looking around, its new to him and was seeing what all needed replacing. It did end up being what you said, once he took the propeller off it was all crumbled inside. Have a new one arriving Friday, thank you for your help!
