Help ID old Chrysler 440bs

"Hi, new here, just starting to work on an old Bertram I picked up with some old Chrysler rebuilds, so not sure if they were the boat's original motors or swapped for rebuilds. Seems to be some conflicting paperwork/manuals onboard. Do these numbers off the sides of the blocks ID the block size?

Looking to verify it they're 440's.

Also, what does the work "wedge" mean when refering to these blocks/heads. One site mentions the size smaller than the 440 being the "wedge" but another site says the 440's are "wedges". I'm guessing the angle of the heads or something?"

Sounds like 440 cast

"Mike,
Sounds like 440 castings to me. Looking at the front of the engines, to the right of the distributor, and just in front of the valley pan holddown bracket, should be a flat pad. These pads will be on the 413s, 426s, and 440s. Check the top of this pad for engine displacement numbers. 361s, 383s, and 400s will not have this pad.

All the engine sizes listed above are Big Block Chrysler "wedge" engines. "Wedge" refers to the head combustion chamber shape.

I found that 440 site from another post off this site yesterday. Indeed that casting # is a 440, and the last digit is a "tooling revision number".

There is a manual on board for a 413 so I was trying to determine what's actually in the bilge..."
