Help figuring out outboard model

So my son (15) recently bought a new motor for his boat. We were told it ran but didnt really believe that to be true but for $25 I figured worst case he could part it out. It's an Evinrude Starflite IX model number 80793R. They told us it was a 1967 80 HP. When I look for that model number to find parts nothing comes up. Any idea why or an alternative model number that should have corresponding parts for the most part?

Here is a picture of the id plate

It is a 67 model.-----Is it electric shift?----If so, did he get the controls ?------The 67 Johnson would use the same parts , plus a few other years.----Your location ?

Thanks, I assumed it was a 1967 80 HP. I probably didn't explain myself very well, I'm really trying to figure out why the model number doesn't turn up on marine engine.com when searching for parts or if there is a different model number I could search under to order parts.

??----Use the Johnson model for 67 !----Find the information the long way , do not plug in the model #.----Do you have the controls , yes or no ?----Is it electric shift , yes , no or no idea what that means ?

The attached screenshot has the model number options for 1967. I had already attempted this route but wasn't sure if one of these options would be usable or if a different model year might be better. No, I do not have the controls for it. We are planning to search for controls over the winter. It is electric shift (technically this model calls it selectric shift). We have restored a couple of smaller outboards (25 HP and 9.5 HP) in the last year without much difficulty. He really enjoys doing this. I just don't want him to be ordering parts and they end up not being compatible due to the model # discrepancy and waisting his money. Thanks again for any additional help or advice.

The Evinrude used a push button control box.----The Johnson a single lever with built in toggle switch.----Either control will work.
