HELP! Engine will sometimes START but will not stay RUNNING

Boat is a quick fire FS 18, 1986-1989 fish and ski boat, 2-stroke, mercury 115 motor.

battery is charged and working
engine cover is off, and I am looking at spark plugs all four of them. Plugs were measured at 060 and manufacturer says should be 052. Getting those in about 1 hour.

boat turns on and IDLE IS RUNNING... when bringing IDLE DOWN TO OFF... and moving into DRIVE or REVERSE = boat shuts down/engine turns off

I am getting spark plugs NEW tomorrow at 8am 9-1-17, so after i put those new guys in all 4 of them, ill retry the engine after i get it all put back together. I have seafoam, carburetor cleaner, and my cousin helped me identify the choke line, idle line, all of that. Keep you posted asap. thanks!
 
You might want to consider having a shop rebuild them for you.

There is 4 carbs on this motor and a carb replacement "kit" (all 4 carbs) lists at Merc for a little over $950. A total rebuild might cost you half of that.

Individual carbs are no longer available but you might find them in "old stock" at some dealers.

4 rebuild kits would run you somewhat under $200 if you want to give it a shot yourself. A decent manual (under 50 bucks) would walk you through the process...

Where? WHERE CAN I BUY THIS AT??? I WILL INSTALL IT MYSELF I WANT TO LEARN HOW TO DO THIS!
