My father died recently and now we are ready to tackle theissue of getting the boat ready to sell. We have a '88 Luhrs Alura , with a single Chysler Gas I/O 220 HP engine.
Unlike any other boat weve ever owned we cannot locate the meter. Its not on the instrument panel or visible on the engine. Were stumped.
Anyone have any ideas?

Welcome to the forum. Sorry for your loss. What Bill said. Unfortunately, these weren't/aren't standard equipment on most boats.

Thank you.
That is interesting- I honestly never thought about it not having one.

Thank you for you replies.

Sorry for your loss. I hope your Dad kept a log book.

Jeff

PS: Every boater should keep a log book! Not only will it save you $$ by allowing you to recall when you did what, it can save your butt if you get snarled in a lawsuit. It happens.

Thank you,

Yes! My Dad did keep a log book, In fact he was good about writing everything down.
That never occurred to us. You're right - it would be a neccessity. I know we have that.

This has been an awful time for us but I cant thank you all enough for your comments and help.

Sorry for the loss

you can e-z install one

i install them on the charging side of the alternator

this way with the key on it does not rack up hours

i would do a compression check, so then you can do it after every year and see where your at

a leakdown test is what you really want to do on 4 stroke motors, but a compression will point you in the right direction
