Help age an engine !

Newbie here !

Looking to try and age an engine i am looking at buying;

MODEL NUMBER 8E45RSLF
SERIAL NUMBER G 3042984

At the present time, I can find nothing on a model number such as 8E45RSLF. Are you sure that this is the exact numbering of the model number? It may be a commercial model of an 8hp but I haven't come across it as of yet.

Its an outboard, seller says late 80's ??

I assumed that it is an outboard, either an Evinrude or a Johnson outboard. Which is it?

Have the seller double check that model number.

We're here to help but we need answers to our questions.

If it is an EVINRUDE 4 stroke I would be careful-------------Many parts are " no longer available "

sorry its an evinrude 45

after talkin things over, it seems this will be too powerful for my use, its price is attractive but ... it'll be too much!
