" My new boat (Wellcraft 180) has been in the water for only a week, and I've noticed every time I flush the motor with the flushing port (motor not running), a slick appears around the motor. If I look into the water below the slick, it's 'cloudy'. I'm guessing that this is fuel or another oil in the water, but I can't smell it on any of the flushing water coming out, so I don't know where it's coming from. When I checked the boat this a.m. at the slip, there was a slick all around the stern. Could any of this be due to the 'newness' of the engine (i.e. oil-based coatings or excess oils around)? I'm guessing it's fuel, judging by the way the water looks below the slick. Where would this be coming from? I'd like to have some ideas before bringing it to the dealer after break in. Thanks,
