Please help!
Occasionally (maybe 1 in 5 attempts?), I still hear a whirring sound under the cover of my outboard after I turn it off. I must manually disconnect a battery terminal to make it stop. Frequently, immediately after I discnnect the terminal, if I touch the terminal with the wire again, the engine tries to start itself, even though the key switch is in the off position
Do I need a new starter? Or is there a solenoid that needs replaced? Or could it be my key switch?
I don't get the boat out much anymore; but this problem occurred a couple times last summer and now its happened once while fishing again this spring.
Thanks for your help!
