"OK, I know the pain of having to replace two hydraulic assist shift cables. Bought one on ebay, and have installed it according to factory manual, and it matches the other broken one's shift cable housing as far as cable routing.
however, when i pull the long cable to seat the shift cable assembly onto the lower housing, the gear spins the opposite way, pushing away the gears, as opposed to engaging them.
also, the manual says the short cable should pull out to 9 7/8", and I only get 9 3/8".
I'm afraid I have the mechanical shift cable (in which case someone got waaaaay too much money for it).
Any verification? and if so, what can i do to switch over?
