Head gasket issue 454 Marine Power Chevy

I have a 1996 Mainship powered by two Marine power 454 Chevys with throttle body injection. I recently had the heads pulled to complete a valve job and I’m fairly certain my mechanic installed the wrong head gaskets. I’m wondering if what’s installed will work or if they should be replaced and if so why?
The engine rear block #0114182
The engine front block #106195XY
Valve cover
Model S454S-40SBR

The head gasket set that were installed
Fel-pro #8523 PT 1 AF 18153
For a 454 7.4L 1980-1995
All the bolt, oil, and coolant holes match up, however, the gasket doesn’t cover the top of the block between the cylinder's. It comes to the edge of the cylinder on one side and up to 3/8” back from the edge of the opposite cylinder. Any thoughts on this will be greatly appreciated!

If your 'engine rear block" 3 is referring to the cast number, and the missing leading digit is a 1, that leans toward a Gen V block and the 8523 PT1 should be fine. Not sure what you are referring to as the 'front engine block' #...

I've changed a few head gaskets and never saw what you described unless something was mismatched somewhere (ie wrong part in the 'correct' box.)

what does the mechanic say?

Good morning!
Thanks for your reply.
Yes, I missed the first digest on the rear block casting number.
Actual casting #10114182.
Front block # is the stamped number.
The condition I’m trying to describe is something I noticed while I was watching the assembly. At that time I deferred to the mechanics knowledge and didn’t mention it figuring he was more experienced than me. We haven’t finished the final assembly and it’s bothering me enough to try and educate myself before it goes any further.

I'd say poke around on you tube if you want to see what the gasket-iron interface should look like...the crush ring on the gasket usually matches the cylinder head's chamber outline better than the cylinder's but I cant say I've ever seen anything like a 3/8" 'gap'...
