Head bolts torque specs

I have a 1999 Mercury 200 efi I checked the left head gasket and need to reassemble it. The head has 30 ft lbs cast in it but that just does not seem right, I checked the torque before I disassembled it and it was 100 ft lbs. That seems more right but I can't get over the casting marks. Can anyone help thank frank

30 lbs/ft, then re-torque after 1 hour of run time. You are using new, stock head gaskets, right?
