Head bolt torque

I'm about to replace the water deflectors in 1978 85hp evinrude. I need to find out how many ft lbs to torque the head bolts. Thanks

18-20 ft-lbs. Start in the center and work your way out in a spiral pattern in increments.

you need to recheck torque after boat has been run and engine got up to temp a few times..some techs set it at 22 to start with and then don't worry about it..
