having problems separating my power unit. 02 90hp 2stroke johnson

been here for hours . i have a 2002 johnson 90hp model # J90PLSNF have everything off and out of the way . all bolts are out and it seems like the power unit is stuck on the shaft of the lower unit. I have it up about quarter inch or more but cant get it any higher . Any tricks on getting it broke free ???
 
Still no luck today .Yes I was talking about the power head. sorry for the confusion, Feels like the shaft is pulling out of the lower unit. I have 2 pry bars on each side and can see all the way threw where it seperates and the only thing i can see is a shaft. Im stumped. tried wiggling it but no luck. any advice at this point is helpful. Thanks Jeff
 
Re attach the power head with a few bolts and remove the lower unit. Then pull the power head.

It will be easier to remove the lower unit from the power head than it will be to remove the power head from the lower unit.
 
you can crack jokes on the newbee. As I said in other posts im not a boat mechanic, but a car mechanic, and im starting to think i should stay just that. I want to thank you for your help. I found that i did not remove the 2 motor mount bolts.Duhhh Thanks again Jeff (im sure ill be back for more questions)
