I bought a new triton with a 2

I bought a new triton with a 2006 mercury 60 hp on 10-10-2006 . Have had it in water 2 times .Fist trip breakdown ended up being coil . they replaced the coil and a fuse.
Next trip out 2 days later runs for 5 mins and boom quits again. This time no fuse is blown. Taking it back to dealer again.
Has anyone else had this happen with a brand new motor not wanting to stay running and not start?
I will let you know what they say it is this time also.

"Cindy,
I guess some people just have all the luck.

Cancel the check and give the boat back.
I'm serious about this.
I'd get real far away from that boat. No more chances done gone finished whatever get out of it.

I have always had this thing with cars, boats, motorcycles, snowmobiles, infact anything with an engine.

Once it leaves me stranded it is gone!"

"Cindy,

You don't need

"Cindy,

You don't need a lawyer bill to go along with uyour boat payment. This is why you get a warranty and this is why you have a dealer network. Canceling the check and returning the boat could bring charges against you. It has been over three days and you are not dealing with the lemon law. You have no legal right to return the boat at this point so don't do anything irrational.

I see little coorelation between a bad coil and a blown fuse. There is no fuse in the ignition circuit, other than the starter system. It is possible, though, that the mechanic caused the fuse to blow while troubleshooting the engine.

It is also possible that the dealer closed a fuel valve or a connector wasn't plugged together securely, causing your second failure. Take the boat to the dealer, ask them to look at it while you wait, then find out what the problem was and why it occured.

Mercury is a good product and they have a good dealer network and a good training program. No product is perfect and no mechanic is perfect either, but it shouldn't be hard to get to the bottom of your problem and get you back on the water.

Good luck
Rick"
