Last year my engine BB Chevy s

Last year my engine BB Chevy started very quickly didn't have to turn over more then 2 or 3 times. This year it's a big pain. Even hot it was happy. I did my usual tune up checking things twice. The biggest difference is that I have new log style manifold I use to have camel hump style. Any ideas what to look at? Once it starts it runs great. I checked the syphon value and it appears good. Looking for direction.

"Does it spin over as fast as before on the starter, and does it turn over smoothly--no hesitation?

If the later, you're getting water in a cylinder or 8.

"I don't know how your ignition is wired, but when one of my engines was difficult to start, I ran a jumper wire from my starter straight to coil that would bypass my resistor only on start-up and give me 12 volts instead of 6 only when the starter is engaged. After the starter stopped it would flow thru the resistor again protecting the coil while running. This helped dramatically."
