I have a 1995 Johson 150 V6 that is very hard to start first time in the day and if it is shut off for more than an hour, the engine turns over good, it will fire and kick the starter drive out. i have to keep cranking it sometimes it wont even fire, then starts firing again and eventuly is starts and runs. I have new plugs and have gapped them. I have pulled out the plugs after trying to start it and they don't seem to wet, I have checked for spark on all cylinders, pumping the primer bulb while truning it over doesn't change anything, this just started a towards the end of the season last year and seems to be getting worse.
It has an inboard tank, the vent is clear and has a water separator in the fuel line. the primer bulb seems to get a bit soft after sitting for an hour or so. when it does start there is a lot of blue smoke for a few seconds and clears up and will ideal perfect once the engine is running it works perfect from ideal to full throttle.
Any ideas what to look for or check?
