"My 1969 vintage has points ig

"My 1969 vintage has points ignition. Hard starting when cold. Always starts fine when warm.
I tried shunting the points to 12 volts when cranking with no improvement.

Choke seems fine. New plug wires. I just filed and reset points. Perhaps they are the culprit.

I haven't changed plugs in a while, but this is a low time engine.

Any suggestions would be appreciated."
 
First check to make sure gas i

First check to make sure gas is pumping into the carb from the accelerator pump when cold. Just have someone pump the throtle and you will see fuel squirting into the carb.
