I have a AQ211A/290A. Engine is working properly.
I was cruising at 2800 rpm when I decided to push the motor to maximum speed. I easily got up to 4400 rpm and kept this speed for 15-20 seconds, then I suddenly slowed down to idle speed and switched the gear into neutral. I was looking inside the engine compartment when I realized that engine idle was slowly decreasing and the motor was about to stop. I immediately switched the gear into forward and accelerated again to some 2800 – 3000 rpm with no problem at all. When I got back to the marina the idle was again fine.
Does anyone know what may have caused that weird idle malfunctioning? I have just overhauled the carburetor and never experienced anything similar before.
Any idea will be highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance and best regards to everyone.
Stefano.
