Mechanic is working up a price for new manifolds, elbows and lower shift cable, all original to the boat. He insists on using Merc replacement parts, says he gives me a 20% discount on the parts. How many boat-bucks?"

I know what auto insurance was up there, so mechanic's insurance is probably higher now, seanson is ramping up....Guy's high figure is tooo low."

Installation labor got me, always something goes wrong. Broke bolt who knows. Don't forget he has to charge for alignment on the drive, gasket.

When was your rubber bellows changed last, and gimbel bearing checked?

"What I'm seeing online for the merc parts is $280 +/- apiece for the manis, $230 +/- apiece for the elbow kits, $90 +/- for the shift cable. That's $1110 for the parts plus shipping if I buy them. He told me 2hrs labor for the cable, 3 hrs for the exhaust work. I think I should be thinking about $1500 minimum here. I'll post the quote when I get it, should hear from him today."

Never heard no problems about osco i got a riser from them."
