Green gasket?

Has anyone used the green gaskets for manifolds? Any good?

Engine side of course. Just doesn't look like it would seal as good as the silver gaskets.

Mercruiser uses non metalic head to manifold gaskets. Or at least they did for a loooong time.

Right and the gasket that came off was not metalic but was silver and if I remember looked like it was coated with Teflon or something.

Use what ever you purchase as long as it is designated Marine.

Metalic gaskets work also but are suseptable to salt water corosion. Not on the inside but the outer edges...

Update. I used the silver looking gasket from Barr and so far no leaks. In fact the engine runs better than it has since first installing it two seasons ago. I suspected a leak and that is why I removed it. Lesson learned is, Check these things for flatness and any other issues that might cause a leak. I discovered the mounting surface to the engine was not flat and had some pretty deep machining grooves which I ground down myself. I would recommend taking off the paint on any of these either after market or OEM and make sure the surface is good.
