Gray marine 6 cyl

That engine is a Detroit Diesel 6-71 introduced in 1933. It is a two stroke inline six with 71 cubic inches per cylinder. It should weigh about 2300 pounds without the gear attached. Early engines were marketed as Grey Marine for GMs introduction into the marine propulsion market. A mechanic I worked with knew these engines well and said marine propulsion was the best application for them, truck applications didn't pull hard enough to keep them clean.
