engine was recently removed from the boat and sat in the garage while engine mounts were being fixed. during this time i replaced spark plugs, attached a new coupler, fixed my leaking carb and did oil and filters. just a little refresher. also rebuilt the out drive with a new impeller. got the engine back in and running on muffs in the driveway and noticed my exhaust manifolds after no more then 2 min just a hair over low idle were hot. could not hold my hand on them for more then a few seconds. no temp gun or else i would have gotten a number. the temp gauge was starting to warm up and im assuming would have caught up to the manifolds if i let it run long enough.

The risers have seen their better days with i am sure the manifolds not far behind them perhaps its time to replace riser/ elbows and manifolds? this was a saltwater boat for many years and i don't think the last owner flushed it often if at all. im just trying to justify spending money on new manifolds. i already have a set of barr risers.

Anything i could be over looking?

Hard to see, but appears you're not getting anywhere near enough water flow out the transom (where it exits). I had to use a rectangular shaped muff (vs. round) on mine--wasn't putting enough water in with the hose.

Yea, perhaps a new set of muffs are in order. What about running from a big Rubbermaid? Assuming it's big enough to submerge the outdrive and keep full of water. Wouldn't this be better then muffs?

I'm just freaking out cause I only got 10 days to our Parker trip! And this thing isn't even ready for a test run!

Thanks
