Have a 200 Optimax engine and now I have no spark . Left ignition key to on(5 weeks) and of course a stone dead battery, but what else could have happened. All was well before. I tried jumping with my car and absolutely no spark, no start. Need some help please. thanks

Is it turning over (starter is turning the flywheel fine) and just won't start, or not even turning over?

The starter engages and cranks away. No spark however.I have checked the fuses which is small plastic block about 2inches. I pulled the cover off and found 4 mini fuses..3 are 20 amp and one is 15 amp. All look good. Are there any others to look for. What else could be screwed up. Thanks for your help.

Those are the only fuses.

At this point my next step would to get it plugged into a DDT and just pray that you didn't toast the ECM.

There is obviously something stopping (initially) the battery power from getting through the ignition to start the motor.

To get "fire" at the plugs you need a battery plus a functioning crank position sensor (CPS) and engine computer (ECM).

Since the battery is powering the starter, and the fuses are ok (one of the 20 amp ones is for the ignition) that only leaves the CPS and ECM as the likely culprits.

Assume you actually checked for spark at all cylinders or did you just assume no spark because she wouldn't fire?

Because if you do have spark we are probably looking at a fuel related issue....

Thanks for your comments. I removed the battery and bought a new one 1000mca Duralast at Autozone. I hooked it up and it fired right up. Apparently the old battery was drained so much that it resulted in a direct short between the cells. Even when I jumped it with a car running i could not get the required volts/amps to send spark to the coil drivers. I guess the ECM sensed a low voltage condition and it would not send any voltage to the plugs. I Originally checked the plugs with an inline voltage(spark) tester that flashes with the spark and got nothing.Must have a very good battery for this motor.. Cranking or turning over is not necessarily a sure sign of a good battery on the Optimax engine. Thanks for all your comments and help.. I was thinking PCM at about 1500.00 .. AARGH!!! There is a God!!
