"I want to go from a 2003 9.9 high thrust remote to a 2006 25hp remote electric with power trim. both motors are yamaha. I have a side console 2002 Lowe Angler. Will the controls for the remote, and the mounting brackets and hardware be interchangeable?"

I just want to get my 730 pound boat to plane, they suggested the portable 20 4-stroke, not powerful enough for this heavy aluminum boat... and no one can tell me if it will get to plane with the 20. Yamaha doesn't make a 4-stroke in a 25, you have to go to a 40 and that is not in my price range."
 
I have a friend who has a boat

I have a friend who has a boat about the same weight as yours and he has a 25hp on it and it will not plane.

i am sure it will act better than the 9.9. All the performance test out there and it is so inconclusive."
