I have an Alpha 1, Gimbell berring is bad and the u-joint bellows has a hole in it. I have a Seloc manual. I was going to order the Gimbel/bellows kit from here. I have two questions, do i get the one with the "Exhaust bellows, or the"exhaust tube"? Exhaust bellows is what is on the boat now. Second, do I need to take off the hinge pins to gain access to everything? Third, should I replace all bellows, shift, exhaust, water hoses. or just the one with the hole in it ?
Outdrive is already off.
Thanks in advance

Ayuh,... The Tube is easier to install, 'n I don't know of any downside to 'em....

Yes... They're lock-tited, so heat 'em to soften it...
Third, should I replace all bellows, shift, exhaust, water hoses. or just the one with the hole in it ?
Yes, 'n the lower shift cable as well...

If you do not do this service correctly, your boat will sink.
From a reputable independent mechanic, should not cost you more than $450.00 labor. That is my recommendation when it comes to this service.

Thanks, I will start in a couple weeks. I redid the floor, stringers
New foam, fiberglass, last year. That was a chore, but turned out
Perfect. (transom was ok)
I am confident in my abilities, and will do it right
Thanks again

Just a suggestion.

Before you purchase any parts, after you remove the bellows, you need to inspect the ring on the transom assembly where the drive bellows attaches. If this lip is rotted or missing any part of it, you will need to have this welded or replace the entire assembly.
