"I have been having problems with my engine cutting out above an idle at low RPM's. My fuel pump has gotten loud and it appears my fuel pump pressure may be way out of spec. My EFI pump is a Volvo 3860210 which is rated at 29PSI. It is a throttle body injection system and I see 30 psi at an idle after starting, after a little reving the pressure drops out to 10-20 psi at an idle which tells me a fuel pump issue.
How much pressure change should I see on the outlet of this fuel pump?
I can see the timing on the fuel injection changing. Does this system also vary pump speed to regulate fuel or is this a constant pressure system?
Since my testing is done under no load (Driveway) I am not giving the engine allot of fuel, however my choke is only opening a quarter inch, Could I have a problem with my automatic choke?
I have changed fuel filters and drained and replaced my fuel.
Any feedback would be appreciated"
