Getting hours on 1999 P150TLRX

Does anyone know how I can get the number of hours on my 1999 P150TLRX motor?

can you explain a little more? I have a prospective buyer for my boat and I want to be as honest and informative as possible. Thank you

There is no component on the motor itself that records engine run time. Even if there was, like with some other Yamaha's, that component can be swapped out to deceive people as to engine hours.

Some tachometers will record engine run time but they can also be swapped out, in which case the time recorded on the tachometer is not the time run on the motor.

On a 25 plus year old motor engine run time is not what I would be looking for when thinking about buying it. I would be buying more based on the physical condition that it is in today. Good compression. Lack of corrosion.

Does it start well, idle well, run well and seem to deliver the expected power is what I would be looking for.
