Just purchased a 83 Evinrude 3

Just purchased a 83 Evinrude 35 HP that has been sitting for a for about 2 years. What should I do before I even try to start it? (besides changing the oil in the lower end?

"Remvove Plug {s} slowly crank engine by hand,I would not hurt to do a compression test. Replace plugs, and use fresh fuel, it would not hurt to put a small amount of lubricant in the cylinder {s} most wear ocrurs during start up. You should replace fuel fiter too.Submerse in water {just the lower end HA } and start, make shure water pump is working,do not free rev just let run at a slow to moderate pace. Iam not an expert but that should get you to started. GOOD LUCK
