90 hp 4 stroke Johnson. I have gone through 3 mechanical fuel lift pumps in last year and half. Trying to figure out why normal pontoon operating , what would cause a problem like this. At close to 300.00 it is getting expense and thinking of switching to electric. Unit is making oil and will not run over 3000 rpms without rough running.
Fuel lines and filter changed.Also have fuel/water separator online which had been changed. Also run spare fuel tank and hookup with same results.

A high tech machine from SUZUKI with a Johnson label / decal on it.------What trouble shooting was done to determine it is that pump acting up as that is unusual.
 
Engine runs fine below 3000 and on occasion runs almost full throttle for short time then acting like not enough fuel but still runs fine below 3000 rpm . Two different mechanics have replaced mechanical lift pump on back of engine runs great for awhile then starts making oil and not run at higher rpm. Not showing any codes . Assume fuel leaking through diaphram into oil but I haven' physically seen a pump after replacement. Just reduced checkbook.
