Why does my gear shifter becom

Why does my gear shifter become very hard when shifting from the forward position back to neutral. Its is so hard sometime I have to put some body weight on it.

I hope that you are talking about the motor. It is a force 125hp o/b.

Same. Most motors have a linkage that moves to lock the motor down as you shift to neutral. If it needs lubrication it will fight the shifter something fierce.
