"Changing fluids in 1982 stern

"Changing fluids in 1982 stern drive, bought hypoid 90W oil from West Marine..the lable says "for mechanical shift"... I'm 50 miles from store and wonder if I should go back and get the Type C."

depending on what outdrive you

depending on what outdrive you have. By year it looks like a stringer drive my seloc manual says not to use 90w for the gear drives
So I used a 80w90 gear oil on mine and I have an omc stringer drive on my boat
