"Hi I have an 84 omc 2.5l 120

"Hi I have an 84 omc 2.5l 120 hp I want to change the intermediate housing,and the upper and lower outdrive fluids. I have the service manual for it and it states not to use a 90 weight and to use a high viscosity gear lube but looking at all the gear lubes they are all 90 weights. can anybody recommend what to use and also I would like to do the trim fluid also, is their a specific fluid for that. One more thing should the intermediate housing have the oil filled from the bottom up also?

"Any marine 80W90 will work- same stuff as modern outboard lower units. Yes, fill all 3 from the bottom up - one of those $10 lube pump kits that fit the jug works great. Trim on a 2.5 is electric - no fluid - just a grease fitting on the worm unit at the front of the engine. You didn't mention the tilt clutch housing, but it calls for engine oil - use same oil as for your engine, a straight 30 or 20W50"
