"Its no big deal if you put a block at about the skeg height, then pop it loose. As soon as it starts to come out the block will pick up the weight and its easy from there.
Leave two of the elastic stop nuts on at the ends of their threads to stop the drive from flying right off when it comes free if its sticky at all. If its been on there a while it may take some messing to get if loose. Don't forget to put your shifter in forward first and disconnect your speedo tube connector.

"ok did it with a friend and it was removed to replace an exhaust bellow. my local dealer wanted $300 to do it??? it took longer to remove and replace the out drive than it did to actually put the new bellow on...we just temp installed the out drive because no seal avalible on new years holiday weekend, and now that we know how easy it was to do it i am going to put a new seal on it and then do the impeller next. This job was so much easier than i thought. definately couldn't have done it with out the Clymer manual....and the people on this forum. thanks again ya'll
