I have 2003, 5.0, Alpha 1 that loses gear case fluid requiring me to top off reservoir frequently. I see oil sheen in water but NO water in gear case This has been the case for while, but getting worse and I don't want to harm gears/ gearcase. need ideas as to where fluid going and fix.

I would check upper gear case seal. Pull outdrive and see if bellows is full of gear lube.

Discontinue use till you preasure test and find leak. Your not only going to damage the gears but also pollute the water your boating in...
