guys i have a pair of 1993 mercs 2.5 200hp blackmaxs that i recently purchased.all gauges are new.all work except the temps and psi.all the wireing is a big ball of a mess.i installed new thermostats,and temp senders,all gauges were put in one at a time so as not misplace wires.i have 12 volts to the gauges. i know there is a wireing mishap along the way somewhere.my question can i bypass wire these temp gauges in stead of tracing out all these wires.thanks in advance.

Sure you can wire direct to the sender unit and cap off the old wires and leave in place but you should mark them so in the future the new owner will know what they are. Nothing worse that having wires terminated that you have no clue what they are for.
