My outboard has a damaged gasket oozing oily residue at the very top of the shaft just under where the covers begin to flare out to form the tray under the power head.
The manual does not seem to cover this and only covers lower gear case from water pump down.
What gasket is this?
How do I replace it?
What effect would you expect it to have on running of motor?
