I have a 78 Evinrude 85 hp. T

I have a 78 Evinrude 85 hp. The gasket on the cowling is dry-rotted and completly falling apart. Where can i find a replacement for this?

I had a 1970 85hp V4 and had t

I had a 1970 85hp V4 and had the same problem. I called a dealer and the gasket was no longer available. We removed the gasket and the staples and installed neoprene weather stripping around the lower cowling where the lid makes contact. It worked better than the original gasket. Cost was about $7. I got the stripping @ Home Depot.
