Gas pouring out of air intake on carb

Hey guys i have an 80's mercury 60hp motor and lastnight she left me to get towed into the marina. gas is pouring out of the air intake on the carb. any ides? i am not a motor head but no enough if i have some guidance. Thanks

It sounds like the float valve is stuck (not closing) so the fuel pump just keeps sending the gas and since it has nowhere else to go and nothing is stopping it, it's puking out the throat.

Nothing in a can can fix this - carb has to come off and be cleaned and rebuilt.

Most shops charge upwards of 200 bucks to rebuild a single carb - it's not a very difficult job and can be done with minimal tools - however, at least a Seloc's manual is a must - it will walk you through the process and even tell you what "not" to do...
