"Its a 1150 115hp 1977 merc outboard all the fuel plumbing from the gas tanks to input on motor are new today I started motor and it ran good but at idol 25 sec in it would want to stall I pumped the fuel bulb and the motor ran great( came back alive).also when i first started i noticed that fuel would come out of the built in screen/cover on fuel pump when priming bulb was pumped was leaking gas bad. the only gas plumbing I did not make new was imput line to fuel pump and out put line to top carb( or first carb i think top one)I did rebuild the fuel pump with diaphram kit 2 times maybe Im doing it wrong check out this noise at WOT conditions on water like glass http://s293.photobucket.com/albums/mm67/prairiedog700/?action=view&current=06280 81349.flv fuel or electrical problem thank you so very much....Anthony"

"Anthony, There is supposed to be an oring on top of the screen under the plastic fuel inlet cover. This is the seal. If it is in place, just before you tighten the phillips screw that holds the cover, wiggle the cover side to side to seat it.

Remember, if that cover leaks fuel out, it leaks air in, as well and the fuel pump won't function well or at all, which is what you are seeing.
If you fix that leak, the fuel pump might work fine..."
