Gas fill fitting

Selling my 2004 Edgewater 265CC and the surveyor advise that the chrome gas fill fitting on the gunnel, the place where the gasoline fuel pump nozzle is inserted, needs to be grounded. I guess this make sense, but checking the internet I cannot find any mention of this. I did see where the gas tank should be grounded, but that was all. Can anyone shed some light on this?

The filler line is (should be) reinforced with wire. I generally clean a couple inches of that off and stick it inside the hose on each end prior to sliding it over the tank fitting and filler fitting, then clamp. That uses the reinforcement wire for a ground. Right or wrong, that's how I was shown.

You may need to ask your surveyor about what he's looking for, exactly.
